Yummy Sunday #1



Kalamay is a sticky sweet delicacy that is popular in many regions of the Philippines. It is made of glutinous rice, grated coconut, brown sugar, margarine, peanut butter, and vanilla (optional). Regional varieties exist, the variations come from the texture and the sweetness preferred.

It's one of my favorite delicacy here in the Philippines.

Horrific


CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Misamis Oriental -- About 5,000 families in this province have been displaced by flash floods and large waves spawned by heavy rains, officials said Saturday.

Over a hundred houses have been destroyed and many people are fleeing their homes in the face of rising waters in the northern part of the southern island of Mindanao, civil defense officials said. - Floods in Misamis Or. displace thousands

It all started last Friday where there is a strange weather condition occur in our city. Winds blew very hard and a night of heavy rain. I thought it was just a ordinary phenomenon during this kind of season. But then, early this morning, we heard radio reports about flash flood in barangays in the city and the rest of areas near Cagayan de Oro river . That intermittent rains since Friday afternoon swamped low-lying villages in the key southern cities of Cagayan de Oro.


Several wooden houses from here have already been washed downstream.


People stop by in the bridge to watch some houses submerge along the riverbanks.



Seeing this scene, made me praise God more,. Though, we didn't live in area that is very nice here in our city, still, we did not experience this kind of horrific and tragic experiencethat this people had.
