Teenage Dreamer Queen

What is a dream?

A dream begins in the heart, formulates in the mind, and after, comes to life before your eyes.
It’s an expressions of what I want out of life, of who I truly am.
It’s spreading the joy I want in the world, whether it is simple or not.
It’s bringing out the best in myself and showing people what I have.

I have many dreams in life.
I often use the word “dreamer” to describe myself.
I grew up with the sense that if I had my heart set on something, I would have direction in my life, and I would end up really happy.

They say that it’s better to put the things we’ve always wanted in front of us so that we can attract what we think. So, here goes nothing- actually, everything, in my case.

1. I’m a sucker for traveling. I’ve been just to one country (Japan) the past 8 years of my life and those moments have been nothing short of amazing for the reason that I'm just a kid at that time when I went there to attend the graduation of my elder sister.
One of my dreams is to travel the whole world or the “must-see” countries at least. I just love immersing myself in another culture and in an entirely different place. I still have so much more to see and experience, to capture and learn.

2. “I want to be a psychologist, like the mom in Freaky Friday.” To give a clear definition of what I want my career to be, that is what I say all the time. I just find the human mind and behavior so interesting. There’s so much you can discover. More than that, I want to be able to help people get through their problems and being a psychologist will definitely do that.
But guess what? I ended taking up the course of accountancy. Well, it's fine after all.

3. I love writing and I love fashion. The one venue I’ll be able to do both is a fashion magazine. I would love to be part of a magazine that will allow me to write for them and to style their photo shoots. I can maybe be a writer for ELLE mag? A stylist for US Seventeen? Or how about the next editor-in-chief of Reader's Digest? They all sound great to me.

4. What kind of girl doesn’t fall in love with weddings? Everything about it is just stunning—the dress, the flowers, the food, and of course the love that lingers in the air. I have a dream wedding—actually, I already have so many ideas. Should I have it in another country? Should I make it a celebrity-inspired one? There’s so much I can do! I just want it to be perfect.
But hey! Don't get me wrong, I don't have any plan to get married yet! I'm too young for such kind of life-changing decision in my life.

I dream of this because I want to be happy.
I want to be fulfilled and successful.
I want to make the most out of God’s wonderful creation.
I want to be able to look back at my life and make it worth watching.

How about you? What are your dreams? :)

My LiveJournal

Here I am, just staring at my computer screen, with nothing to write.

I can’t say I have writer’s block, since I don’t really consider myself a writer, even if I’d love to do so. I think of myself as more of a reader than a writer, since most of what I write is more for my personal expression anyway. Aside from academic papers, exam essays, and the occasional article in the school paper way back in grade school and high school, I don’t really write much outside of my journals. But my journals are secretly my pride and joy. I’ve kept them since grade 5 or 6, I think, even if I didn’t really take it seriously yet. Back then, it was just a school requirement, but the habit stuck. I wrote all sorts of weird things in my journals back then; I think it was filled with doodles, drawings and the occasional FLAMES of my name and my crush (hahaha), aside from the usual account of my day. I had always complained inwardly that my hand moved too slowly for the thoughts in my head, but still, I persisted. I wrote and wrote and wrote.

I was the happiest child in the world when I discovered online journals! Hooray for technology. Hahaha. My very first online journal was made in fourth highschool, in wordpress.com. Then I discovered Tabulas, Blogspot, Xanga, Livejournal, and even made accounts in all of them (NOT actually all of them) , but abandoned most. It was only my Livejournal that stuck with me for four years—from second year high school till today.

Although I love blogging—the typing, the open to the public function, and not to mention the convenience, for me—nothing beats good old pen and paper when it comes to writing my thoughts down. On one hand, blogging can be so interactive now, with the photo posting option, the comments, and all of that. But at the end of the day, it’s leafing through yellowed pages filled with my really ugly scribbles that I love. It’s that candy wrapper I inserted between the pages or the flower I tried to preserve that day that I look for. It’s seeing how my writing (and handwriting, haha) has evolved through the years, and how I can just end up laughing at my endless rambles about mundane things, and rants about petty fights.

Whoops, think I just rambled again right there. This entry is filled with my rambling! Forgive me. Hahaha. But still, I’m glad I didn’t abandon my journal writing years ago, or else I wouldn’t be writing this blog entry right now! :)) Hmm, maybe I can call myself a writer just like my elder sisiter, who knows? Hahaha.

PS you can visit her own blog. Which is very nice! http://www.sandierpastures.com/

Saturday Scavenger Hunt : CHIPPED

This Week's Theme: Chipped

These are chipped sea shells.

My mother gave this to me some years ago. I think more than 5 years already.

This shells came from one of the provinces here in the Philippines which is in LEYTE. She went there for a short vacation and this is her pasalubong or souvenir for me as she came back here in our place.

My mother knows how I love to collect things a lot such as stamps, stationery, etc. And she also knows that I'd love to make some creative stuffs like making my-own-style bracelets or earrings.

I always had plan to use this shells in making such fashionable-creative stuffs but it ended up stuck in the Tupperware where I put them.

Yes, I know there nice and very pretty shells but I don't have any time even to make one.

But I'm glad and amazed that when I open the Tupperware earlier, it's still the way how it looks just like I saw this some years ago.

Intriguing

While searching the internet, I found an entry by Skirmisher's blog which made me feel intrigue. You better see this.

The Face You CAN'T Trust

Princeton psychologists recently showed that certain faces, even when expressionless, strike people as trustworthy or untrustworthy. Features like the shape of the eyebrow are part of an unconscious language of trust that powerfully affects human interaction.
NOW, Do you know somebody who's face is like this? OR has some features like this man over here???

Well, I did know somebody and TRUST me, HE/THEY is/are UNTRUSTWORTHY.!

How would you spend YOUR weekend?

Here's How NOT to Spend Your Weekend

1. Go to an event more than an hour late “because it won’t start on time anyway.” Arrive just in time” just in time to find out you’ve already missed the two bands you really wanted to watch live again.

2. Stay at the event, because it wouldn’t be polite to leave. Have a t-shirt thrown right at you by the vocalist of a local band, and in the process of NOT attempting to catch it, have hysterical fan girls do serious damage to your eardrums and make you fear for your precious life.

3. Sleep until lunchtime, “because you deserve it.” Wake up with a headache that makes you want to smash your head against the nearest hard surface. Decide that you’ll feel better when you sleep again.

4. Wake up to an empty stomach and an even worse headache. Drag yourself out of bed. Grumble. Then get cranky because there’s nobody to grumble to but yourself.

5. Run errands: withdraw money, pay bills, pick up laundry, do groceries. Do all of these in all your sabog glory” pambahay clothes, with zero makeup and messy hair, because you were too lazy to fix yourself up. Pray you don’t bump into The Cute Guy Who Lives In Your NeighbOrhood.

6. Watch 'The Notebook' and wonder why you don’t even feel close to crying. Wonder what this implies about your emotional capacity, or lack thereof.

7. Buy a stash of junk food that’s supposed to last for one whole week, then proceed to consume everything in a matter of hours. Feel guilty after.

8. Buy a gorgeous, gorgeous black and white satin dress five minutes after promising yourself that you are “just window-shopping.” Feel guilty after.

9. Go to a coffee shop with your laptop to get some work done, then end up surfing the Net and going to all these useless sites. Feel guilty after.

10. To be With friends, in a place you love without asking permission to your parents or guardian. And end up waiting in the front door of the house until morning.

11. Watching endless episodes of Ugly Betty, thus, making you realize afterward how ugly you are having eye bags because of watching the television the whole time.

12. Sick. So sick you can't do anything except lie on the couch and moan while an entire trailer full of people attempt to both stay out of your way and help you, while also attempting to have a good time themselves.

13. Write lists like this one and think, “This should make a good blog entry.” Realize that you are one big hopeless dork. Sulk.

Yummy Sunday #3

In the Philippines, it connotes a whole roasted pig, litsong baboy. Lechon baboy is one of the highlight of Filipino festivities, birthdays, wedding, family reunion and christmas parties. Lechon is a very delicious dish and to be cook right so that the skin is very yummy and crispy. For me, the skin is my favorite part of Lechon.

This photo was taken during the wedding ceremony of my elder brother.

12. Antipatiko = I'm a snob girl sOmetimes and I do sOmetimes like guys who are sNob just like me.

13. Torpe = To call a man torpe means he does not know how to court a girl, is playing innocent, or does not know she also has an affection for him. For me, he's just being non sense. Express your feelings men! all Ayt?

14. Computer-games addict = Computer Addiction is a PROBLEM! Now, he cOuld be my pRoblem!

15. Basketball player = Basketball, soccer, tennis, badminton, swimming, even yoga, ballet. or gymnastics. Anything that reeks of sports is super dupeer Fine with me!

wOrth a Try

With midterms approaching, students can be found in all areas of campus cracking the books.
But me? I prefer to stay at home and concentrate...

Test anxiety can be an issue for students. Symptoms include the fear of failing, tension, shortness of breath and perspiration.

I usually try to manage my time the right way, try to start early, and read a little bit so that I do not have to cram the night before exams. But unfortunately because of the bad weather here in our place and the power-cut situation,. this was the result...

Studying under dim candle light is difficult and very inconvenient but I think it's wOrth a TRY.
